"Tipi Responses" - an immersive installation of multi-dimensional artwork created by Julie Shea, Ed Duncan, Rachel McKiernan, Ainslie Ivin-Smith, Ed Duncan, Leanne Berelowitz, Lucinda Rose, and Simon Mark. using the theme ~ Tipi ~ exhibited at the Macleay Valley Community Art Gallery, Kinchela Street, Gladstone, NSW from June 19 to 29, 2014.

Visitors experienced local and city artists balancing the physical and spiritual world, reflecting the natural organic flow of migration resembling the patterns of the weather and its wake; referring to respectful lifestyle – observing, learning, valuing and creatively responding to difference and change to produce, conserve, reuse and integrate at a personal level to influence the whole; remembering the value of personal spaces, small places for kids and rabbits, bush survival, the romance of exotic culture; recognising the interconnectedness of all life through the symbolic circularity of shapes and forms and a different aesthetic that arises from this; reconstructing light and sound as rain splashing on drums.

Everyone was invited to attend an installation performance by Julie Shea and then to participate in a community performance with a live sound installation by Ed Duncan on Thursday June 19 at 10.30. A video and shadow play night was held on the evening of June 21st, and the artists held informative floor talks at the gallery on Sunday 22 from 2.00.
